Artist statement
Brittany Rose Garza
I am Brittany Garza and I currently attend Ronald Wilson Reagan College Preparatory high school. Like many things in my life, I take art very seriously and it has grown to be one of my passions. Prior to hiol the art classes I was involved in were basic and I did not learn much from them. The art program at Reagan has given me both the skills and tools I need to create art that is a direct reflection of who I am as an art student.
So far in my journey through art, I have made a variety of pieces that include photography, painting, drawing and sculpture. I try to experiment with many different styles and techniques in hopes to discover my niche. I have been influenced by many artists and I try to evaluate as well as keep an open mind to new ideas.
The purpose of my art is to express a real life representation of the the ideas which dominate my mind. The only concern I have is trying to achieve a well focused piece that is in a league of my own, but also reflects the work of timeless artists before me. I am still learning and developing my skills as an artist and I hope to make many pieces that reflect my views and opinions. I will always use my art work as my own self expression. It is hard if not impossible to guarantee that my art will change a life or even a thought, but even though I can not say for certain what is to come; I know that I will walk away with an experience that has sculpted my creativity.
